FroTools : ReleaseCenter
The ReleaseCenter is a module for FroTools that allows user to Promote and Demote Intralink objects through a web browser using the "Request To Promote" RTP process.
Web based promotion
Are you using the RTP (Request To Promote) process within Intralink? Do you need to setup a list of voting users to promote objects within Pro/INTRALINK? The ReleaseCenter is an integral application for helping create a paperless environment and integrating multiple departments into the ECO process. Now users can use a web interface (no Intralink client required) to accept or reject changes to promoted objects.
Include other departments
By incorporating the Intralink RTP process into the ReleaseCenter, now groups such as configuration management, document control, and quality control can easily add input into the Release Process. No need to install Intralink on non-engineers computers to promote objects. No longer do you need to try and train document control on how to use Pro/INTRALINK.
Automate release procedures
The power of the ReleaseCenter relies on the ability to remove the requirement for "paper-passing". When a user attempts to promote an object within Intralink, the ReleaseCenter first checks the list of required approvals. A customized email is generated and sent off to all individuals on the list. In addition, a PDF of the drawing is automatically created and attached to the email to help communicate the requested changes. Within the email is a hyperlink to the FroTools ReleaseCenter. Once clicked on, the user can accept or reject the changes. If the voting requirements are met, the object is automatically promoted within Intralink... All without the need to print out paper drawings and pass them around...
