Training Courses

Book on to a certified PTC training course today.

Training During Lockdown

Due to the current travel restrictions imposed by the government to combat Coronavirus all of our training courses will be run as ‘Virtual’ courses until further notice.

For some, this is an ideal time to get training and skills updated.  All you need is a USB Mic/headset – and if you don’t have one then we will send you one.

Virtual training isn’t new to us – we use it for remote and overseas customers already and it is very effective.

Trainees participate in all the same exercises and demonstrations that we use in classroom sessions and you can interact easily with the instructor and other trainees. We make it a fun experience.

Don’t let the Coronavirus stop you learning  –  use this time to broaden and sharpen your skills!

Bite Sized Virtual Training Courses

Bite Sized courses are limited to a maximum of 8 trainees so book early!

PTC Creo Training in 2020, UK

Root Solutions is an official Platinum Partner Re-seller for PTC in the UK.

Root Solutions Limited has been providing PTC software solutions and training since 1992.

This first article will briefly summarize three of the most in popular courses. Further articles will go over more specialist areas.

PTC Creo Parametric 5.0

PTC Creo Parametric 5 .0 training teaches productivity and engineering design. In this course, several subjects will be taught including Part Modeling, Assembly, Drawing, Surfacing, Sheetmetal and AR design visualization as well as enhancements in Mini Toolbar.

There are several key features of Part Modeling that students will learn, such as Volume Helical Sweep and Sketch Region Selection.

The student will also learn Freestyle Surfacing features, such as Align to a Non-G2 Chain, Align Curvature Connection, Enable Box Creation Mode, Add Edge functionality, Slice Mesh by Plan and Symmetric Style Curve.

Going on, the attendee will also learn sheet metal design enhancement and enhanced Mini Toolbar for the Style, For 3-D and 2-D Annotations, and Sketch Regions.

At the end of the course, attendees will complete a course assessment in PTC University Proficiency intended to evaluate your understanding of the course as a whole.

Model-Based Definition using Creo 4.0

This course is the place to learn about MBD modelling. The attendee will discover how annotate mode provides the tools to create an MBD model using the MBD process within Creo Parametric 4.0 . We learn how to create 3-D annotations and how to utilize them in combined states.

Several other key points are taught, such as how to manage the visibility of annotations within combination states, how to create and modify various annotation elements, including dimensions, ordinate dimensions, datum reference features, geometric tolerances, surface finishes, symbols, notes, and datum targets.

The main purpose of this course is to reach a better understanding of the MBD process and how to create MBD models using this process.

Again, at the end of the course, you will complete a course assessment in PTC University Proficiency intended to evaluate your understanding of the course as a whole.

Milling Using Creo Parametric

In the Milling Using Creo Parametric course, the attendee will learn how to Machine Produce using Creo Parametric Manufacturing Tool, specifically how to create tool paths for three-axis milling machines, by creating manufacturing models and configuring the manufacturing environment. Included are the processes involved in configuring tools, fixtures and machining options, how to create milling sequences, hole making sequences and post-process cutter location (CL) data to create machine code.

The student will be able to create numerical control (NC) programmes for milling machines and post-process cutter location (CL) data to create machine specific code.
