Analysing Assemblies (FEA Part 6)

Bite-sized virtual course

Duration 3 hours

A lot of models will be assemblies. Quite often components that would normally be loaded when in an assembly are analysed on their own and is likely to be wrong as loads and constraints are introduced gradually in complex ways.

We must therefore work with assemblies which means we need to tell Creo Simulate how the components interact. This interaction is by interfaces.

There are many ways components interact including welds and fasteners.

Fasteners and welds are covered in depth in separate tutorials.

• Interface types
• The default interface behaviour
• Using rigid links
• Using weighted links
• Contact analysis
• Shell models
• Mixed mesh models
